Professor Louise Sharpe

Louise Sharpe 

Louise Sharpe is internationally known for her work in Health Psychology and has worked clinically with patients with a wide range of chronic physical problems. She is Professor of Clinical Psychology at Sydney University. She has more than 25 years’ experience working as a Clinical Psychologist in Health Psychology and has over 175 peer-reviewed publications. She is the author of more than 19 randomized controlled trials, across a wide range of chronic physical illnesses, including chronic pain, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cancer and epilepsy. She has treatment manuals for a variety of conditions, some of which will be made available to those attending the pre-conference workshop.

 

Dr Beverly Haarhoff

Dr Haarhoff is a clinical psychologist and Senior Lecturer in the School of Psychology at Massey University, Auckland. She teaches on the Postgraduate Diploma in CBT and has a particular interest in the Anxiety Disorders. Her research interests are also in therapist training and development and the utility of Low Intensity CBT interventions.

She has several published papers and book chapters which focus on Self-practice/self-reflection as an experiential training and professional development intervention. She has co- authored two books in the field namely “Experiencing CBT from the inside out: A self-practice/self-reflection workbook for therapists” (Bennett-Levy, Thwaites, Haarhoff & Perry, 2015) and “Reflection in CBT” (Haarhoff & Thwaites, 2016).

 

Mr Tobias Schulze

Tobias Schulze

 

Tobias has been trained in Germany as a CBT therapist (psychological psychotherapist) and after working many years in inpatient units with server and chronic ill clients, he gradually expanded his therapeutic horizon to include psychodynamic conceptualizations of client pathology in an effort to find ways that would work to reduce the suffering of clients he met. He has specialized over the years in the treatment of personality disorders (specifically narcissistic personality disorder), recurrent psychiatry disorders and complex trauma.  Tobias immigrated to NZ in Oct 2015 and worked for over 2.5 years in an adult community mental health team in Napier and is now working in private practice.
